Performance Improvement Workshop

Programme
Objectives
 
To improve the way that Managers and Team Leaders handle expectation setting, continuous feedback and confronting poor performance with a view to restoring performance to acceptable levels or the termination/re-assignment of the performer.

It is considered that most Managers and Team Leaders know the process required but that they lack confidence and skills to manage the process effectively. Each will attend a one day workshop where the theory of Performance Improvement will be revisited and the various skills explained and practiced through role play. (Knowing /Doing)
Content 
  • Introduction and Objectives.
  • The Company Performance Review System.
  • The need for constant improvement and employee turnover.
  • The Expectations, Objectives and Performance Standard setting at the beginning of the cycle.
  • The Performance Appraisal meeting and identifying poor performance: Role play.
  • Creating the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)
  • Implementing the Performance Improvement Plan: Employee Coaching - Employee Training - Delivering and Receiving Constructive Criticism
  • The formal Performance Improvement Plan Review meeting: Role Play.
  • The follow-up to the final PIP review meeting.

‘Role Play’:     Each participant will play the role of manager, employee and observer using prepared briefs, which demonstrate how to apply the theory.
Prerequisites Good level of course language and experience of delivering performance reviews.
Who should attend All those who have to implement Management by Objectives and the resulting Performance Reviews.

Nb of participants 9 participants. Attendance is limited per session to maximise the value from the role plays.
